A canoe or kayak trip down one of NSWs inland rivers enables you to enjoy the true beauty of our vast river systems and the Department's canoe & kayak trail map kits detail some of the best canoeing regions NSW has to offer. The map kits break the rivers up into daily sections, and features paddling times and distances, each reserve's GPS coordinates, accommodation and camping facilities, support vehicle access routes, nearby towns and a safe canoeing checklist.
For more information contact the Canoe & Kayak Trail Coordinator at george.schneider@lands.nsw.gov.au or call (02) 4937 9330.
There are three caneoing adventures in this map kit; the Nepean River, Colo River and Hawkesbury River. With numerous sections and tributaries well-suited to recreational canoeing and kayaking, each river has its own characteristics that are sure to meet your needs.

The Tumut River is a major tributary of the Murrumbidgee River, which, with the Murray and Darling Rivers, drains the huge Murray Darling basin.
The Tumut River Canoe and Kayak Trail starts underneath the Blowering Dam wall, and follows the river to its junction with the Murrumbidgee River just up stream of Gundagai. The regular flow out of the Blowering Dam during summer months and the picturesque rural landscape in this area makes the Tumut River one of the very best canoeing trips available.

The Murrumbidgee River Canoe Trail starts at Nanangroe Reserve, near Bookham, and follows the river 230 kms downstream to Wagga Wagga.
Releases of water from the Burrinjuck Dam provide excellent conditions during the summer months, and riverside reserves provide both easy river access and relaxing camping spots.
