Major initiatives

The Crown Lands Division is undertaking a range of major initiatives including the Newcastle Post Office Project, Wagga Wagga Riverside Precinct project, and Tweed sand bypassing project.

Cabarita South: A precinct plan for Crown land

The Tweed Coast Holiday Park Reserve Trust (TCHPRT) in partnership with LPMA has released a precinct plan for public exhibition and comment. The precinct plan includes proposals for a new holiday partk and residential development.

Newcastle Post Office Project

The formal Newcastle Post Office is an iconic heritage buidilng which has been identified as palying an important role in achieveing the objectives of the Government's future revitalisation plan for the City of Newcastle, particularly in relation to creating a more active and vibrant town centre. The buidling is a landmark site both physically and historically and has the potential to become a hub for the Newcastle CBD.

King Edward Headland Reserve (former Newcastle Bowling Club)

Stronach Property has lodged a development application with Newcastle Council for the construction of an architecturally designed function centre on the former Newcastle Bowling Club site.

Forster Tuncurry Crown Harbour Project

The Forster Tuncurry Crown Harbour Project will establish a long term plan for Cape Hawke Harbour and the CBD foreshore of the two towns. The master plan is being undertaken through a Memorandum of Understanding between the NSW Land and Property Management Authority (LPMA) and Great Lakes Council.

Riverside Wagga Wagga project

In 2008 the LPMA and Wagga Wagga City Council entered into a Memorandum of Understanding to develop an integrated Masterplan for the Wagga Wagga Riverside Precinct and its environs.

Tweed sand bypass project

The Tweed River Entrance Sand Bypass Project is a joint NSW and Queensland initiative restoring the southern beaches of the world-renowned Gold Coast, while improving navigation to the entrance of the Tweed River.

Silverton wind farm

The LPMA has negotiated the legal and operational framework that has allowed one of the worlds largest proposed wind farms to be established near Silverton north of Broken Hill.
