Green Lease Schedules

One of the key elements of the Office Building Strategy is the development and implementation of Green Lease Schedules to ensure sustainability standards are achieved and maintained in buildings leased by the NSW Government from private landlords. 

Green Lease Schedules provide landlords and tenants with a mutual obligation to engage on sustainability issues through the establishment of Building Management Committees, the adoption of Environmental Management Plans, monitoring of building performance ratings including the National Australian Built Environment Rating System, and other initiatives.

The schedules will be included in lease negotiations for leases over 1,000 square metres and encouraged for leases under this threshold.
