The Waste Reduction and Purchasing Policy (WRAPP) now forms part of the NSW Government Sustainability Policy which sets new targets for resource use, disposal and procurement across energy, water, fleet and waste.
All NSW Government agencies and State-Owned Corporations are required to develop and implement a WRAPP plan to reduce waste in four areas paper products, office equipment and components, vegetation material, and construction and demolition material.
The State Property Authority's focus is on office consumables and the management of construction and demolition material from major capital works programs.
The results of a recently conducted staff sustainability survey are being used to update the Authoritys WRAPP strategies and actions.
