Peter and Sheree promote the park’s facilities
AFL legend Peter Everitt found plenty to do when he turned up at Lake Keepit State Park over Anzac weekend with his television show, The Great Australian Doorstep.
The Great Australian Doorstep follows Peter and Sheree Everitt as they travel through Australia's smaller regional towns. They encounter natural wonders, secret local spots, local legends, and anything that shows what a unique town is made of.
Peter and Sheree were contacted by Lake Keepit's Park Manager, Scott Taylor to help promote the lake's attractions to families and the community in general.
"The program will showcase a number of the facilities that the park offers, along with our excellent cabin, caravan and camping accommodation options," said Scott.
The filming involved Peter flying high above the Keepit dam in a glider provided by our Soaring Club.
He then busied himself with fishing and hired a boat and kayak down the lake, both supplied by the kiosk. And he hadn't finished there. He proceeded to organise a sailing and wakeboarding trip and then cooked up a storm with local produce, he said.
The Lake Keepit State is managed by community volunteers on a trust board established in 1997.
The Great Australian Doorstep airs on Channel 7 Two at 5pm every Saturday and is now in its third year.
