The Public Reserves Management Fund (PRMF) provides funding as grants or loans to reserve trusts managing showgrounds, parks and reserves.
Among the funding provided from the PRMF this year is:
• $20,000 in grants and loans for Moree Racecourse Reserve Trust to upgrade amenities;
• $15,000 in grants for Maitland Men’s Shed towards the setting up of an IT section, the installation of air conditioning, the construction and fitting out of a hobby/meeting room, and driveway work;
• $13,200 grant for Port Stephens Community Arts Centre for landscaping and to assist with wheelchair access;
• $5,707 grant to Boggabri Showground and Public Recreation Reserve to fill in a disused well and ensure the site is safe for the local community;
• $3,440 grant to Sulphide Street Station Railway and Historical Museum Trust (pictured) for the restoration of Centenary carriages at the museum;
• $2,000 grant for Warialda Rail Public Recreation Reserve Trust to replace an existing concrete water tank stand;
• $1,650 grant to Kootingal Community Hall Reserve Trust for hand rails for access ramps leading into the hall;
• $385 grant for Cumborah Recreation Reserve Trust for maintenance of tennis courts and amenities.
If you want to apply for PRMF funding for your trust you should follow these three simple steps:
• Contact your local Crown Lands office for tips on getting your application approved.
• Print out an application form – the forms can be found in appendix J of the Trust Handbook (pages 97 to 100).
• Submit your funding request to your Crown Lands office by 30 April.
